Fthor Snefjeldeby ~Mandrakil

A picture of my friend as his Warhammer LARP character Fthor Snefjelde, a Norscan noble and priest of Ulric.
Fthor was, among other things, Viktor's friend and employer for around a year and a half. When Viktor went back to his archery, he lent his armor to Fthor, a meaningful gesture.

This picture quite nicely shows my latest update to the armor: feathers. I put them on the iron chain and on the trophies on the left shoulder.
Fthor looks, in my opinion, like pure awesome in this picture, and my armor goes greatly with his own chainmail and the rest of his costume. Sadly, I think the armor wasn't properly strapped on to him at the time the pic was taken, as I remember it fitting him better. Our body builds aren't exactly the same, and the armor's made for me, but it still shouldn't look like that...

That looks like really decent armor. I love the combination of materials. It gives it a real depth. I haven't done a lot of work with chainmail yet but it really does work well with Leather. Did you make the chainmail shirt? Hmm, whenever I see someone else's work I learn something, or try to. In this case, I notice your bracers are laced up on the thumb side of the arm. I always orient my bracers so that the laces are on the inside. Maybe this is why I'm having trouble making elbow's work,the bracers are oriented in the wrong direction. I guess I should probably start incorporating metal. It really looks good and ups the protection.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. But the only thing in this picture that I've made, is the metal-enforced leather armor for the torso, shoulderpads included. The chainmail shirt was bought from a store.
I didn't make the bracers either, but I think I can tell you what you're maybe doing wrong: I can see on your "Saphire's Armor 02" photo that you're making the bracers very long. Having the opening on the inside is fine, that's what I've done with my own bracers. But my bracers are shorter and don't get to the elbow. If you want bracers to reach your elbow and still be able to turn your underarm, you have to cut some room for the overarm. I don't know how to explain it any better, but I guess I can show you with a drawing or a picture, if you want to ^^

well with or without the armour, Thor is still greatly respected within the Cult of Ulric, as Wolfhart does his best to speak the will of Ulric and thus promoting the Norscan power in Nebelheim. Though it hurts Wolfhart's heart (and mine) learning that such close friends and allies are leaving the Province of Stirland and heading home to Norsca.

Well, there are numerous reasons for the Norscans to leave. For Viktor, one of them was that he was simply fed up with the citizens. The Norscans fought side by side with them for a year and a half, being a valuable ally in the defense of the city during Orc raids, for example. Nebelheim's had major problems with the Undead -twice- while the Norscans were there, and the Norscans had a key role in defeating them both times. I could go on describing what good the Norscans had been to Nebelheim.
But even after all that, they are only respected by those who really know them. The rest of the citizens fear them, and it's not that long ago that Viktor was called a barbarian. So they leave/left, as they have more important things to tend to, than such an ungrateful city as Nebelheim.

and indeed he looks kick-ass - he does fit your armour ^^ Or rather; you make armour so awesome it'll look good on almost anyone xD Of course it helps if another source of awesome is wearing the awesome.
